The result of Fund Awards of the year 2009 (Malaysia) has been announced on 31 March 2010. There are total of 9 awards to recognize the outstanding funds in 2009, seven to equity funds and two awards to fixed income portfolios.
Following a difficult year of 2008, the following 2009 has witnessed a prosperous year for most of the asset class, whereas the surge in emerging markets equity is particularly prominent.
The fund performance in 2009 is one of the selection criteria but not the only one for Morningstar Fund Award. In addition to one-year performance, we also evaluate each fund’s risk-adjusted returns over a longer period.
